Refurbished Infill Plane

I love old hand planes, especially Infill Planes, they just work better than most other planes. Well I found this one in pretty mush trashed condition. The wood was dried out, cracked and broken in several spots, the lever-cap was cracked through from over tightening and the screw threads were partially stripped. I drilled out the screws which held in the wood infill and removed it. I created new pieces from some Ipe wood I had laying around. The original handle was small and didn't fit my big-mitts very well so I designed the new handle to fit. I set the blade angle at 45 degrees and tightened up the mouth by making the infill closer to the front of the plane. I made the lever-cap and screw myself out of some scrap brass I picked up at the scrap yard. The screw is a little rough as I made on my bench-top mill as I didn't have my metal lathe set up yet. I'll make a new one when I get a chance. The plane is very solid and works wonderfully!
