Simulation Modeling

Simulation modeling is one of the process improvement tools we use to support our clients. For the service sector, we typically construct an as-is process map to give us a visual of how the organization is performing today. The as-is map is a very powerful tool used to look deeply into the processes and when used by the process owners it allows us to identify waste in the system and proposes alternative ways to improve.

We use process modeling tools which allows us to turn the as-is map into an actual functioning model which can be altered and stepped through time to see the affect of proposed changes before physically making them. Add our lean expertise, to this process step and the clients can visually see the affects of a future-state model in terms of cost, lead time and resource savings before implementation of the system changes.

We also conduct simulation studies for our manufacturing customers to aid them with:

  • Visualizing a proposed system prior to building it,
  • Showing the effectiveness of proposed equipment,
  • Answer 'What-if " questions without having to make costly physical changes
  • Testing complex control logic
  • Right Sizing' In-Plant Part Storage Areas
  • Minimizing Cost for Equipment Changeovers,
  • Improving Existing Lines to Reduce Process Costs,
  • Testing Complex Gantry Robotic Logic.
  • Models to Determine the Scheduling for Plastic Door Panel Presses

We have experience building models for OEM Suppliers of Assembly, Test, Metal Cutting Equipment, Plastic Molding Systems, as well as, Many Non-Manufacturing Systems.
